How to Connect
MSMN supports multiple modes and linking methods. Always follow FCC Part 97 rules and the network guidelines. If you administer a repeater or node and want to participate, see Get Involved.
AllStarLink
Connect using an approved AllStar node configured for MSMN. Ensure your node is compliant before linking.
- Use your node controller to connect to the MSMN endpoint (as provided by network admins)
- Identify and monitor before transmitting
- Disconnect if you experience audio loops or instability
YSF (System Fusion)
YSF users may connect through the MSMN reflector or approved bridges.
- Select the correct reflector / room (as published by MSMN)
- Use DN/VD modes as appropriate
- Keep transmissions concise during nets
Analog Repeaters
Participating repeaters operate independently but may be linked during network activities and special events.
- Follow local repeater rules first
- Pause between transmissions for breaks and emergencies
- Use proper tone/offset per your local listing
DMR (via bridges)
Some DMR connectivity may be available through approved bridging.
- Use only approved bridges to prevent routing issues
- Respect talkgroup/time-slot guidance from MSMN
- Report issues so admins can stabilize links
